In Self Portrait with Cuts and Time and Time Again, we experiment in painting and video, with the new cut out technique and the ability to see through layers. Self Portrait with Cuts is a series of oil on canvas self portraits, each painting consist of two canvas layers, whereas one stretched on the top of the other. Time and Time Again are short video loops. What fascinates us, in the working process, is the given option to choose what we want to conceal and reveal. We control the representation of several simultaneous realities at the same time, and can suggest alternatives. In times of global turbulence and uncertainty; in a noisy world where destruction reigns, the search for silence, where peace can return and where the beginnings of change can emerge, is essential.

Mental Diary is a visual journal; a healing tool for processing trauma, organise thoughts, manage stress through reflection, and record historical events. It consists of over 100 works on paper, mostly 20x30 cm in size. They are all collages combining watercolour, pencil, photo prints, and paper cuts. The basis for this series is the handmade construction drawings for the restoration of an old house that recall a sentiment to the pre- Israeli building style in Palestine. This house used to be a paediatrician’s residence and will become our second studio. We develop these collages intuitively, in terms of subject matter, composition, and technique. The paper cuts reveal layers of construction and demolition, discovery and concealment. These works are born from a keen awareness that our personal, dynamic lives contrast with a threatening and chaotic global reality. Questions about human values, a safe home, both physical and conceptual, and intercultural aesthetics arise from the images.
